  	where they were met by the Macarther agents who arranged temporary accommodation in the woolsheds near Sydney Cove for a few days while basic requirements were assembled, formalities completed, leases signed and notarised and transport organised. The group left Sydney Town on 19 June 1853 for the four day walk to Camden. Bullock-drawn drays transported the Macarther agents, children and goods but most of the group had to walk for four wet and miserable days in the middle of winter. The day of their arrival at Cobbitty turned out to be brilliant sunshine and they moved in with pre-arranged established families until slab houses could be built on their selections. Over the next couple of months, both neighbours and workers from the Macarther estate helped in building and settling in of the new families
